Are you ready for some football? Here are some gift ideas for young football fans…
I think a perfect kid gift is one that includes something awesome to read and write, something creative to do, and something to inspire unstructured, imaginative play. These are great on their own, or gifted as a little collection of football fun!

Read: For a fan who loves sports facts, and The Everything Football Book is a perfect fact book for beginners. It explains the basics of the game, plus trivia, history and some puzzles, riddles and word games. We also got two fiction books: Kick, Pass and Run
by Leonard Kessler is a funny “I Can Read” book, and The Dog That Stole Football Plays
is a great beginning chapter book by Matt Christopher. (Matt Christopher has lots more of his sports-themed stories.)
Write: A young football fan would enjoy playing “coach” with this official Dry Erase Football Game Board. He can map out his plays, erase and do it all over again. (Also a good way to sneak in some fine motor skill practice.)
Create: With this football drawing book, kids can learn to create life-like football illustrations and draw themselves in the football action!
Pretend: My son likes to pretend he’s a sportscaster and commentate his favorite games. These football guys would be perfect for acting out the play by play. This set is one of those basic, classic toys that isn’t flashy, but it’s been in constant rotation at our house for years.
Happy gifting!
